Wesley snipes was sentenced! to 3 years in prison!
I don’t know why that shocked me, but it does.
Apparently the prosecutors wanted the maximum sentence they could get - and they got it.
As for his defending attorneys:
They argued he should get only probation because his three convictions were all misdemeanors [...]

So…Survivor’s Richard Hatch appealed, and a federal appeals court upheld the conviction on tax-evasion. Basically - again - they said no to his claim that he was under the impression that the producers of the show were going to pay the taxes on his prize.

Wesley Snipes’ defense team, led by Robert Barnes, rested their case on Monday morning, without calling any witnesses to testify. They spent just one hour in the courtroom. As oppose to the Prosecution’s 2 weeks worth of presentation.
Which seems rather… strange.
Snipes is on trial for tax evasion.
