Poor Tyra Banks

My title may sound snarky or sarcastic.  I’m not meaning to.  I mean that this time.
Brady Green was accused of stalking, and was arrested last Tuesday.  Paid a little too many visits to the show studio.

Lotsa phone calls, attempted visits and letters…  Even flowers sent.

He was released on his own recognizance.  So Tyra filed for a restraining order, which was granted.

Released on his own, since he is so in his right mind.

Nobody seems to know where he is at the moment.

That’s gotta be scary – no matter who’s the stalkee.

About Freakin’ Time

John Graziano, the young man (and war veteran) who was in the car that Nick Hogan crashed was left basically a vegetable. FINALLY, the family is suing.

They are also suing Daniel Jacobs, the other dude racing.

In February, Daniel Jacobs pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving. He was fined $500, sentenced to 90 days of probation, had his driver’s license suspended for 90 days and ordered to complete 25 hours of community service.

Kid’s in a semi-coma, and he only paid $500. No jail time. And didn’t permanently lose his license. That’s just sad.

Oh – excuse me:

As for Graziano, he is not in a complete vegetative state. Though part of his frontal lobe had to be removed, he can still respond to heat and light. On few occasions, he has breathed without a ventilator.

I have to say this is one case… And I say this rarely… That the family should bleed them dry.

Kid Sued

kid-rock.jpgKid Rock is being sued…  To the tune of $15 million!

Frankly, I’ve never understood what the big deal about him was.  I don’t find him to be a musical genius, and he always looks kind of scuzy.

Anyway, back to the point of the post.

Three guys (Michael Medlin, Carlos Bonilla, and Jose Perez) said that him and 6 peeps from the Boo-Yaa Tribe assaulted them when they just wanted their autographs.  This is back in 2006 outside Teddy’s at the Roosevelt hotel.

They also claim their camera’s and bags were stolen to.

Which were OF COURSE worth $15 million.

Oprah Sued

I’m sorry but this is sort of like the queen getting sued.  Seriously!

Two suits, actually.  When it rains, it pours.

An audience member, Orit Greenberg, claims she was injured when the audience ran to the choice seats.  Oh please.   She’s looking for $50,000 in medical costs and damages for “severe and permanent injuries.”

The other is from a mom in Boston, Darlene Tracy, who said that Oprah’s Big  Give show was her idea.

Tracy claims she pitched a reality show called The Philanthropist to Ellen Rakieten and Jennifer Thornton, the executive producer and a producer of Winfrey’s daytime talk show, in which contestants were judged on their ability to help out those less fortunate.

No comment, of course, from Harpo Productions – ongoing litigation you know.

Will the Queen be taken down a notch?

Rocker Blamed for Son’s Suit

seanstewart.jpgI’m trying to make sense of this.

Rod Stewart’s son, Sean, is accused of “assault, battery, false imprisonment, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional  distress” by Daniel Refoua.  Rod Stewart is named as a defendant and his lawyers are trying to get his name removed from the suit. It was in regards to a “physical altercation” outside LAX (a nightclub in Hollywood.)

Sean says he was acting in self-defense.

How Rod Stewart seems to be involved (or not) is that they are suing due to his employees – as his bodyguard James Davis what involved (as another defendant.)   In other words, Rod held accountable for his employee’s actions.
Hearing scheduled for May 9th.

Cedars Fined in Quaid Incident

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has been fined $25,000 for the staff errors that led to overdoses of blood thinners being administered to three infants, including Dennis Quaid’s newborn twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace, in November.

“The hospitals take this extremely seriously,” state deputy director Kathleen Billingsley told the Los Angeles Times Thursday. Cedars was one of 11 facilities fined for various violations, she said.

GOOOOD!!  Now, don’t get me wrong – I would hope this would be the case for non-publicized cases as well.I’ve spent time with my newborn in the NICU.  I CAN imagine what they’ve gone through.  It’s the most agonizing, helpless, soul wrenching experience.

Miley Cyrus is Really Miley Cyrus

miley_cyrus.jpgIt’s not my usual affair, but it does involve a courtroom, so I guess I’ll include it.

Her birth name is Destiny Hope Cyrus – Miley was just a nickname from childhood.  She wants to make it official, and court papers have been filed to do just that.  She’s not 18, so her parents are going forward on her behalf.

Beach Boys Settle

Former bandmates of Beach Boys fame, Mike Love and Al Jardine, have settled a long term lawsuit.

Over the name of the band.

Love sued Jardine in April 2003 after he toured with groups under the names “Beach Boys Family & Friends,” “Al Jardine, Beach Boy” and “Al Jardine of the Beach Boys.” A federal judge ruled that Jardine could not use any reference to “Beach Boys” as it violated copyright laws. According to the suit, Love is the only person who may perform under the name “Beach Boys.”

The terms are confidential – of course.  And may I ask why Love can and Jardine can’t?  How is it possible only one Boy owns the copyright to the name?

I’m a little confused by the whole thing.

Esai Morales is a Dirty Man…

…At least according to his ex-girlfriend.

The live-in lovers are at odds.  She says he gave her herpes and beat on her.  She also throws in breach of contract saying the he owes her $25,000 for managerial services.  It’s an oral contract, of course.

Why would the lurvers sign anything?

He has denied the whole thing.  ‘Course there’s a settlement in the works which always makes me leary of any denials.   However – prosecutors did not go after him on criminal charges, so maybe there’s something to the denials.

The whole thing is “tentatively settled, ” but there’s another court date coming up on April 9th.

Shia + Smoking = Arrest

shialabeouf.jpgShia LaBeouf missed his court date. Why was he going to court? “Unlawful Smoking.”

Isn’t that usually a fine?

So, what do they do? ISSUE AN ARREST WARRANT! Aren’t there better things for the legal system to do? I mean… I get it. Law broken… Court… Didn’t show. But let’s put this in perspective.

Oh – and his lawyer didn’t show either – which probably means that someone dropped the ball somewhere. No self respecting lawyer is going to NOT show up to court on purpose.

This all happened in Burbank too – and just so you know, that law is fairly new. Like this year. So, he probably didn’t even know about the law in the first place! It just seems so trivial to me.

However!  A court commissioner then recalled the warrant when his lawyer showed up the next day (today) to plead not guilty.

Now there’s a pretrial hearing scheduled for April 24th.  For a hearing!  For a trial!  For smoking!  Your Burbank tax dollars at work right there.
